Here are a few Spanish tongue twisters. The first one will give you great practice for trilling (rolling) the “r” in Spanish.
I
Erre con erre cigarro
Erre con erre barril
Rápido, rápido, ruedan los carros
Cargados de azúcar del ferrocarril
II
Compadre, comprame un coco.
Compadre, yo no compro coco,
Porque como poco coco como,
Poco coco compro.
III
Pablito clavó un clavito
Un clavito clavó Pablito.
¿Qué clavó Pablito?
Un clavito clavó Pablito.
IV
Una catatrepa tiene tres catatrepitas.
Cuando la catatrepa trepa,
Trepan las tres catatrepitas.

Thank you so much for the “trabalenguas.” I’ve been looking for the 1st one for years…couldn’t remember it from college days. Question, what is a “catatrepa?”
Hi Gena,
Thanks for your comment. The “catatrepa” appears to be Spanglish, a made up word designed to rhyme in the tongue twister. It sounds like a combination of the Englishi word caterpillar and the Spanish verb “trepar” (to climb).
