GarbancitoToday’s audio cuento is an old folk tale from Catalonia, Spain. It is about a very teeny, tiny boy who gets lost while running an errand for his mommy. And boy, does he get lost!! The very first time that Cody and I heard the ending to this story we couldn’t believe it. It was so funny, we couldn’t stop laughing!

The original version of this story, called Patufet, was written in catalan. That’s the language spoken in Catalonia (Cataluña en español), a region in Spain. Our friend Megui reads this story. She is from Barcelona, a city in Catalonia, and she does a great job bringing Garbancito and his amusing story to life.

Hello, and thanks for this great website. These storys make learning spanish a lot easier and interesting. Also, I think falling in love with Megui’s voice :) It’s so vivid. I assume that all the stories are in spanish and not in catalan, right?

    Thank you
